Boots On, Miles Covered: Team AK Takes On the LandAid Trek

Six members of the Arnolds Keys team took on the LandAid Trek through Thetford Forest, raising vital funds to help tackle youth homelessness across the region.
Last Friday, six members of the Arnolds Keys team swapped the office for the forest floor, lacing up their boots for the LandAid Trek at Thetford Forest.
Harry Downing, Nick Williams, Catherine Kilbourn, Lara Whattam, Natalie Roebuck and Daisy Egmore joined trekkers from across the region for a route that wound through the Fir Walking Trail, past Thetford Warren Lodge and across the Norfolk/Suffolk border, roots, dips and soft forest ground included.
It’s an event with real weight behind it. LandAid exists to end youth homelessness, and the numbers explain why that mission matters more than ever: nearly 124,000 young people presented as homeless in England last year, a 6% rise on the year before. Every entry fee and every pound raised goes directly to projects supporting 16 to 24 year olds facing exactly that.
We are proud to have taken part, not just for the cause, but for what a morning like this does for a team. Getting out from behind a desk, tackling a route together, and finishing muddy and a little tired is a different kind of team-building than any conference room can offer.
Thetford Forest, on its day, is one of Norfolk’s genuine outdoor assets, and Friday was one of those days: clear skies, good company, and a route that reminded everyone why this part of the county is worth getting out into.
A big thank you to the LandAid organisers for putting together such a well-run event, and to everyone who sponsored the team or came along to take part themselves. This year marks LandAid’s 40th year of work, and it was a privilege to play a small part in it.
Well done to the whole team for getting round, and for representing Arnolds Keys so well while doing it.
